Luciano Cigars (formerly ACE Prime) co-founder and master blender Luciano Meirelles decided he wanted to blend a cigar to honor his late mother, Maria Lucia Meirelles, to capture the complexity, grit and vibrance of her character and named his latest blend the Maria Lucia. The cigar is rolled with Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, two binders from Ecuador (one grown from Sumatra seed, the other Havana ’92) with a mix of fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Peru. The cigar is described as medium to full in terms of strength. Maria Lucia is made at the family’s Tabacalera Pichardo factory in Nicaragua.
