The American is a brand with history that dates back to 1910 when the El Reloj cigar factory was first opened. When Drew Newman (the 4th generation of Newman Men in the industry) wanted to make his mark, he desired to create a special cigar that would honor the past and blaze a trail into the future. He found an old cigar band in the factory archives with the name “The American.” It set him on a path to create a brand that honors America’s cigar tradition by rolling world-class cigars in America using the finest American-grown, aged, heirloom tobaccos. He didn’t stop there. He also insisted on using American made and sourced cabinets, bands, and boxes in its production. The blend features tobaccos grown in Pennsylvania and Connecticut for the filler and binder, while the wrapper is grown in Florida. The profile of the American is unique and satisfying.
